Giving back, helping others to succeed, and leading the way are part of our corporation's culture and our success. These have been our company’s core vision and mission for the past 20 years of existence. Since 1989, the Mercan Group of Companies has grown to become the industry leader in international immigration and recruitment.

As a market leader in our industry and in the countries we operate, we firmly believe that it is an integral part of our corporate core values to contribute or give back to the community where we operate. Last May 28, 2009, the Mercan Group of Companies made a donation worth US$200,000 to the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) in the Philippines in the form of 10,000 units of medical kits composing of medical bags and medical instruments. These medical kits will equip 10,000 Nurses under the DoLE’s Nurses Assigned in Rural Services (NARS) program with tools that can help them in their service training in the poorest communities in the Philippines.

Under the NARS program, unemployed Nurses will be mobilized in their hometowns as frontliners for wellness to implement primary health and school nutrition programs, maternal health programs and initiate first line diagnosis. These Nurses will also provide education about community water sanitation practices, conduct health surveillance, and immunize children and mothers. They will be deployed in the 1,000 poorest communities in the Philippines to provide these basic services.
